2025–26 Mite Program Overview
We are excited to announce the new GSC Mite program for the 2025-26 season. With these changes, we believe the program is evolving to better prepare young players for high-level CHC competition, foster a strong sense of community, and develop a pipeline of skilled goaltenders. Our focus is on accelerating player development, enhancing coaching quality, and increasing on-ice engagement.
Key Enhancements for 2025–26:
Tiered Team Structure: Transitioning to an experience-based model (C: 1st year, B: 2nd year, A: 3rd year), with flexibility for player readiness and social dynamics in order to create a clear developmental ladder for players to climb and progress in preparation for Full Ice Travel Hockey.
Practices (see below for practice schedule):
A Teams: 3 practices/week (including skills sessions with Nates starting in November)
B & C Teams: 2 practices/week
All practices held Monday–Friday
Game Format:
Withdrawal from CPCT League
Games hosted at Wings Arena, Dorothy Hamill, and GSC
A Teams transition to a traditional Travel Hockey schedule
B and C teams play every Saturday morning a Wings arena with additional games at The Club
Goaltender Development:
Partnership with Procrease for goalie training
Weekly goalie rotation
Increased game opportunities for developing goalies
Coaching Improvements:
Greater involvement of professional GSC coaches
Increased coaching development training for Parent coaches with the Mite Director
Why These Changes Matter:
These updates will significantly enhance player development,facilitate community cohesion, and align GSC with top-tier youth hockey programs in the region.

2026-27 Mites
2026-27 Mite A Tryouts for 2018 & 2019 Birth Years
GSC Hockey Families,
We are excited to announce that GSC will be conducting tryouts for Mite players born in 2018 and 2019 this March! This process will be used to determine the Mite A teams for the 2026-27 season. This early tryout date advances our goal in providing a Mite A experience that best prepares them for the older levels. With the continued growth of the program, Mite A teams will be competing at higher levels for many seasons to come!
All players who participate in tryouts will be placed on one of our GSC Mite teams. In addition, B/C team tryouts will take place in September for players who are not placed on an A team, ensuring appropriate development opportunities for all participants.

TRYOUT REGISTRATION FEE
There will be a non-refundable fee of $250 payable at the time of tryout registration. Please note that your $250 must be paid prior to your child attending tryouts.
