Job Summary

The Rink Maintenance Associate plays a vital role in ensuring that the Greenwich Skating Club operates smoothly, safely, and looks its best at all times. This position combines hands-on maintenance work, ice support, and member interaction — perfect for someone who takes pride in hard work, teamwork, and creating a welcoming environment for our members and guests. This position reports to the Director of Facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Facility and Ice Maintenance

  •  Maintain cleanliness across locker rooms, restrooms, and public areas.
  •  Assist with ice maintenance: edging, snow removal, Zamboni support, and equipment
  • upkeep.
  •  Perform facility maintenance (leaf blowing, minor repairs, general upkeep, etc.).
  •  Remove snow and water during inclement weather, ensuring safe and operational
  • conditions. Availability for overnight, early-morning, or late-night shifts during weather
  • events is required.
  •  Serve as scorekeeper for games when scheduled.
  •  Monitor and report facility issues promptly to ensure timely repairs and upkeep.
  •  Uphold all safety protocols, including access and gate procedures. Identify and correct
  • potential safety hazards promptly.
  •  Assist with special events and high-traffic weekends in a professional, proactive manner.
  • Customer Service
  •  Greet and assist members and guests with warmth and professionalism.
  •  Provide a guest-first experience, ensuring everyone feels welcome and supported.
  •  Politely enforce club and safety rules to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
  •  Handle member and guest interactions calmly and respectfully, even under pressure.

  •  General cleaning and maintenance capabilities.
  •  Familiarity with ice rink operations or willingness to learn.
  •  Basic mechanical aptitude a plus.

  • Qualifications
  •  Minimum 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
  •  Prior experience in facility or rink maintenance preferred.
  •  Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor in cold, wet conditions.
  •  CPR or first aid certification preferred but not required.
  • Job Requirements
  •  Full-time seasonal position (40–45 hours per week).
  •  Timeframe: Nov 1 2025 – March 15 2026
  •  Work schedule includes weekday evenings and weekends.

o Typical shifts:

  •  Morning: 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
  •  Evening: 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.

o Weekend availability (Saturday & Sunday) is required.

 Must be able to commute reliably to and from the Greenwich Skating Club.

Compensation & Benefits

  •  Hourly rate: $18–$19/hour, based on experience.
  •  Overtime eligible (non-exempt position under FLSA).
