Below are GSC tryout dates and times. To minimize conflicts with tournaments for certain age groups, GSC will host multiple callbacks for Squirt and Peewee levels. These dates align with USA Hockey and the majority of competitive CHC Hockey youth organizations. Tryouts will take place before school breaks.

Girls Trying Out for Boys’ Teams: Girls interested in trying out for boys' travel teams (as a dual roster to our Stateline program) are welcome to do so. They will try out in their age group (Squirt/U10, Peewee/U12, Bantam/U14)

Commitment: Playing travel hockey requires a commitment to both the team and the program. Attendance at practices, games, and tournaments is expected.

For U14 and below, the season runs from Labor Day through the CT State Tournament, which typically takes place in late February or mid-March. Expect 2-3 practices per week, 1-2 games per weekend (both home and away), and 2-3 tournaments throughout the season, including the state tournament. Off-ice and video training sessions are usually scheduled in conjunction with on-ice practices.

U16 is a split season. The first half starts at the end of August and runs through the CT State Tournament in early November. If teams qualify for nationals the season will reconvene in mid-March after the high school season and end in early April.

We understand that many children participate in other fall sports/activities, which may create scheduling conflicts. We fully support multi-sport athletes and ask for their best effort to attend during those times, with the understanding that hockey will take priority during the winter season. If you are unable to meet this commitment, we recommend reconsidering tryouts

Alternative Options: For players & families seeking lower commitment and a local experience, GSC offers Travel Development Teams, which focus on skill development and a fun hockey experience without the travel.
