1) More ice
We are actively looking for all available ice times in the area as well as pursuing an indoor rink option, which has the support of the majority of our members. We will also fine tune our holiday sessions to ensure there is more free hockey and free skating for our membership.
2) Improve skill development, coaching and competitiveness
Many people have commended the club for increasing our pool of talented professional coaches as well as hiring two new directors of hockey, Ian Tarrant (Boys hockey and Head of Skills Development) and Shannon Doyle (Girls hockey). The increase in small games, drills and intensity this year is clearly noticeable. As with the mite tryouts this year, Ian and Shannon will now oversee all GSC hockey tryouts to ensure the best decisions are being made for our players and teams.
3) Fire place
The fireplace is a fixture of the Club and where you will typically find our General Manager, Brent Brower. We have recently made improvements to the fireplaces to improve ventilation and will have updated rules on how to operate the fire places.
4) Snack Bar
We will be improving our food offerings, including having high-quality coffee on hand and will be re-introducing healthy eating options to the menu. These options will be continually evaluated throughout the season. In addition, we will test run an ordering system that will alert members when their food is ready.
If you have additional comments or feedback on the Club, and would like someone to contact you, you are always welcome to go to Member Thoughts on our website to share your thoughts.
